Das Klavierduo Mephisto ist aus der Begegnung zweier Musiker entstanden , die sich am roemischen Konservatorium Santa Cecilia diplomiert haben : Stefano Caponi und Stefania Maroni. Ihre Verbindung basiert auf einer tiefen musikalischen Affinitaet, die sich in klanglicher Empathie mit grosser Suggestion ausdrueckt, staendig im Gleichgewicht von Eleganz, Energie und Leidenschaft, die den Hauptcharakter ihrer Interpretation ausmachen.
Dieser verwirklicht sich in einem besonderen Repertoire, das immer ein Gefuehl des authentischen sucht, sowohl im Klavierduo als auch im vierhaendigen Spiel mit Werken von W. A. Mozart bis M.Ravel, von J.Brahms bis D. Milhaud, ueber verschiedene Experimente der Arrangements, wie zum Beispiel die Rhapsody in blue, von Gershwin, aber auch Erfahrungen mit anderen Instrumenten wie der beruehmten Sonate von C. Bolling.
Von Publikum und Kritik wurden des Duo in den groesseren Theatern Italiens und naderen Konzertveranstaltungen, als auch in den Radiosendungen des Vatikans mit Begeisterung aufgenommen.
Stefano Caponi is a graduate pianist. He took his diploma in the music conservatory of “S.Cecilia” with the highest marks under the guidance of Maestro G. La Licata. He became an expert in contemporary music with Maestro F.Mannino. From 1983 he is the Artistic Director of the Kipling Musica Academy. He has participated in many national and international competitions often reaching the first places in the standings. He studied orchestra conducting with Maestro R. Napoli and he is a music writer for theatre. He performs both as a solo artist and in chamber formations. His vast mozart repertoire is very well appreciated, of which he is a refined executor.
Stefania Maroni is a graduate pianist. She took her diploma in the music conservatory of “S.Cecilia” in Rome with the highest marks. She participated in several important piano festivals and in various competitions, often reaching the first places in the standings. She holds concert events as a solo artist, and in different chamber and orchestral formations (a duo and larger groups). She has played in Italy and abroad in important musical venues. She has done recordings for the Vatican Radio in different chamber ensembles. In 2010 she participated to the V edition of the music event “The September Concert” together with famous musicians sucha as Maestro Zubin Mehta.
